BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team head coach Andrew Burke announced the 25-game schedule for the 2019-20 season, which gets underway the weekend of November 1-2 at Southern New Hampshire, Friday.
The opening weekend against the Penmen marks the first two of six consecutive road games the Lions will play to begin the season. On November 10, Bryn Athyn faces Albertus Magnus for the first time in program history. The following weekend has the Lions in New York to take on Nazareth on November 16 and Hamilton on November 17. Bryn Athyn ends the string of road games on November 23 at King's (Pa.).
Fans will get the chance to see the Lions play at home for the first time on November 30 when Bryn Athyn hosts Post University in the front end of a weekend home-and-home series. The teams will meet again on December 1 in Waterbury, Conn.
After taking on visiting Lebanon Valley on December 6, Bryn Athyn closes out 2019 with three straight road games: a weekend series at Castleton (December 13-14) and Wilkes (December 7).
Bryn Athyn opens the 2020 portion of its schedule at the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational hosted by Nichols on January 4-5. The Lions start the Invitational against host Nichols and then take on either Hobart or Saint John's (Minn.) the following day. Hobart reached the semifinals of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
The Lions return home for three straight home games in a five-day span. Bryn Athyn plays a return game with Wilkes on January 7 and a pair of contests against SUNY Fredonia on January 10-11. The game on the 10th is an exhibition game and the game on the 11th is a regular-season contest.
The next two weekends have the Lions on the road facing Buffalo State on January 18-19 and Anna Maria on January 25-26.
Bryn Athyn closes out its home slate of games with the team's season three-game homestand of the season, starting with the second meeting with Albertus Magnus on January 31. The final month of the season gets underway with a visit from Brockport State on February 1. Bryn Athyn's last home game on the season comes on February 7 against King's (Pa.)
The Lions head to New York to face SUNY Canton during the final weekend of the season on February 14-15.
Bryn Athyn returns 21 players from the 2018-19 squad that posted a 7-17-0 overall record in its second year at the NCAA Division III level.
